Camera is set with straight shot (no angles) 4? from floor and moves left to right turning from kitchen to hallway

Camera moves down hall (lighting low is as if 6:30AM Spring in the Midwest. Use tight almost claustrophobic shot block) and pans left at bedroom briefly where we see 2 sleeping children . Camera pans right and continues down hall. ( we begin to hear labored breathing and movement coming from end bedroom on left) camera pans left to shot of interior Chris Hughes bedroom where he is sleeping with wife.

Camera moves in to shot of Hughes, hair wet with sweat and head moving in a dream state.

(effect: burst of light from center frame out to fill frame (sound effect of muffled low volume explosion to add weight to coming scene) to interior shot of home from Chis Hughes childhood. Camera angles are shot up as if from Chris? view at 7 years of age. A detective has enter home as we hear him inform (muffled and phasing in and out) Chris? mother and father of their daughter?s condition from the kidnapping which has taken place. We see the mother lurch forward, screaming and restrained/comforted by father as detective looks down and away to right. Father is in emotional disbelief with head down as detective moves hand forward to consol him. In his hand is a manila folder which is knocked away by father (who is not able to be comforted). The contents fall out of the detectives hands and spiral (slow mo, up angle shot, detective hand open and in frame) to feet of young Chis Hughes. Up angle shot, head and shoulders of young Hughes who is looking down at contents. Camera swings up and left to right around and behind young Hughes. Down angle shot, young Hughes view to see contents revealed of horrific crime scene photos. (Burst of light from center frame out to fill frame (sound effect of muffled low volume explosion to add weight) Up angle shot, tight on young Hughes face.

Young Hughes is perplexed as he tries to get his head around what he is seeing. Wide angle shot of young Hughes bending down to pick up photo. Interior shot tight on Chris Hughes in bed who is shocked out of sleep. Bolts upright to seated position in bed . Wife (Shelly Hughes is early thirties woman with shoulder- length strawberry blonde hair. She very attractive and dressed in t- shirt as PJ?s )awakes suddenly, groggy but moves quickly to her husband, hands on his shoulders: (dialogue)

Shelly, concerned:" .. the nightmare again?"

Hughes, head in hands rubbing forehead: "Yeah..but worse.. More graphic"

Shelly, holding him now with arms around him from the back: "Do you want me to call George..(Chris? psychiatrist and sensei) do you want your dream journal? Here, write it down?" moves to get Hughes? dream journal.

Hughes, moving gently to stop her: " No, I?ll deal with it" Hughs is obviously struggle to stay focused. "I?ll be fine"

Camera shot wide of interior bedroom from door as Hughes swings feet off bed to seated position. Wife is concerned and kiss Hughes on back, she lays back down.

Same shot, Hughes rises to exit bedroom to restroom, camera view, following.

Interior shot, restroom from behind Hughes who at sink in front of large mirror we see him reflected, with shower curtain behind him. He bends down to splash water on his face as he rubs his eyes he has his first auditory hallucination voice over intense; " Let me out, they?ll pay for what they do" Hughes bolts up to see an apparition reflected behind him, behind shower curtain, huge and ominous, it appears to be the shadowy figure of a bat. Hughes recoils and falls back momentarily then dives forward to rip away shower curtain to reveal..nothing.
